Installing FutureBB is fairly simple. Here is what you need to do:
- Make a directory for your forum (such as /forums)
- Place the contents of the ZIP file you downloaded in that directory
- Go to the web address of your forum (http://somesite.com/forums), then click "Begin Installation"
- Follow onscreen instructions
- Select your database type (MySQL recommended)
- Enter your database information
- Choose the rest of the settings for your forum
- Once you click "Install", you will be given a config.xml file. Download it and place it in the forum root directory.
- If you are not sure with the .htaccess or nginx configuration information, please read the server guide
- Congratulations, you have a working forum!
